About this Website
This website was built using the Joomla Content Management System. The management system allowed us to build and develop the website page by page and allows real time updating to view the website content. During the building of a site, it is a common thing to restrict access to the site. If this is the case, simply entering your domain name in a browser would bring a 'website under construction' or similar message to the page. It is also a general 'rule of thumb' to provide a username and password to the customer, so that they can login to the 'front end' of the site (the actual website that will be assesible to the general public when the site go's live), and see the development and progress taking place during this building phase.
What's a content management system (CMS)?
A content management system is software that keeps track of every piece of content on your Web site, much like your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don't have to.
Joomla is used all over the world to power Web sites of all shapes and sizes. For example:
- Corporate Web sites
- Online magazines, newspapers, and publications
- Government applications
- Small business Web sites
- Non-profit and organizational Web sites
- Community-based portals
- Personal or family homepage
- School and church Web sites
